Our Vision

Zonta International envisions a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential.

Our History

The Zonta Club of Spearfish was chartered in 1987; we have one charter member in our current membership. We are a group of professional women that work hard to bring advocacy, education and support to other women and children in our community.

Our club has one(1) primary fundraiser that allows us to grant up to and over $30,000 each year. This is our Festival of Trees. It has become the cornerstone event of the holiday season in the Spearfish, SD community. This event has brought joy, beauty and helped to raise funds for our mission for over 33 years.

Through our fundraising, our grants are given to organizations that help women and children. We provided clothing to children in need; our school counselors call our organization when they see a need in any of the district schools. We offer scholarships to both high school and college aged women. We support advocacy projects like human traffic awareness. We participate in the Northern Hills Training Center’s chili feed. NHTC is a non-profit that specializes in the care and support of special needs children and adults.

At the chili feed, our booth is decorated, and our members get to talk about our group and their efforts.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
